It doesn't seem like much, but it's made this bike even better than what it was. Overall, I'm very happy with the changes. The best part about the Next bars is the lack of trail chatter and vibration in my hands without sacrificing feedback. It feels more balanced and nimble, climbing is more planted, and I might be closer to 34lbs with the weight savings over the stock parts. The handling on technical trails is vastly improved. Since I ride trails and not enduro, the shorter stem changes how this bike handles. The bars and stem make a huge difference. Last change was upgrading the SPD XT pedals. Got rid of the saddle for an Ergon SM Pro with the Red Trim to match the rest of the bike, and also went with the Ergon ga2 fat grips which I absolutely love. I went with a Raceface Turbine R stem 40mm/35mm clamp in Red, and the Raceface Next 35mm Carbon bars. I completely re-vamped the cockpit and got rid of the stock stem and bars. Just a quick update on my 2021 Meta TR Race since I added some modifications. Now if I could build this one up so it´s rides well too it will be a blast. I am very excited about this frame!, I think is hands down the best looking frame out on the maket right now. I am not much of a suspension tinkerer, and as after finding my settings I mostly leave the dials untouched. But I would like to try coil, and it looks like the CC DBCoil IL strikes a good balance performance weight wise. And the extra weight too, but I don´t want a much heavier bike that the Transition. I come from a alu Transition Sentinel, so I am used to the long and slack geometry. On fire roads and gravel paths it´s just a question on getting up to the top. I ride rough natural forest trails and long high alpine descends. So the 400-488 Valt Progressive spring sounds quite nice theoretically. The TF Tuned Spring calculator says that I need a 440 spring rate(28%sag). What I am wondering about is if I need the Valt progressive spring for this frame? Any who have tested with both ordinary and progressive springs? Shock: I am thinking about the Cane Creek DBCoil IL. I have a Meta TR frame Polished size M on order. The use of double-row Enduro Bearings allows a more homogeneous deformation of the frame without the loss of stiffness via the bearings.Aesthetically, the frame has evolved in depth. The 140mm rear travel and 150mm or 160mm fork up front will give you that extra confidence which will make all the difference when things get tough. In September 2020, Pinkbike journalist Mike Kazimer described the META TR 29 as, ”One of the most fun bikes that I’ve ridden this year”.The stiffness of the frame is always the subject of much attention.
